The Homestead 1854, listed on the National Register of Historic Places, is a historic gem located less than 60 miles from downtown Chicago in Plano, Illinois and is the perfect petite destination for a mid-week one-night retreat for those looking to escape the ordinary and who are in search of truly exclusive experience. Nourish your body, mind and soul at this retreat that blends dynamic and gentle yoga and meditation with great food & beer! At this retreat, in partnership with Chicagoland Brews Cruise ™, you will visit and enjoy flights of beers while learning more about the beer styles produced at local breweries. Our approach is inclusive, encouraging and suitable for all yogi levels. Participants of this retreat must be at least 21 years of age. 

Gather your yogi friends, or come solo. 

The Homestead 1854 is a unique 2-acre property tucked in a neighborhood and the restored mid-west hidden oasis harmoniously blends The House, The Labyrinth, The Timber Tent, The Chapel, The Front Lawn, The Patio, The Fire Pit and Gardens.


The following is included with this retreat:

  • 1 Evening overnight accommodations (check in 11:00am on May 24; check out 11:00am on May 25)

  • 2 Meditation & Yoga Classes with one of TH1854’s Registered Yoga Alliance Professional Instructors

  • Chicagoland Brews Cruise ™ two stop tour; each stop includes a flight of beer chosen to highlight various beer styles and a personalized experience to learn more about the beer and the people behind it. The first stop is Oswego Brewing which opened up in May 2018 as an idea dreamt up by Chris Heinen while home brewing with some friends. Here you will experience a flight of beers in their beautiful tasting room, along with a discussion of those beers with a member of the Brewing team. Our second stop is Brother Chimp Brewery for another flight of beers and a brief tour of the production area. Demand for Owner Steve Newman's "craft beers that taste like beer" has required recent expansion of his Brewery to accommodate his growing number of fans.
