Franki & Brian

On a September weekend in 2023, The Homestead 1854 provided the enchanting backdrop for a truly extraordinary wedding celebration—the union of Franki and Brian. Their love story is as exceptional as they are, and their wedding weekend was an unforgettable journey filled with personalized touches and heartfelt moments.

Franki's profound emotional connection to historic 1800s buildings played a pivotal role in selecting The Homestead 1854 as their wedding venue. It was more than just a venue; it was a place where her wedding dreams beautifully intertwined with her family history. Visiting The Homestead 1854, she felt a sense of destiny, as if this hidden gem had been patiently waiting for her and Brian to arrive and say "I do."

Guests from various parts of the United States gathered to celebrate the love between Franki and Brian, and the weekend commenced on Friday with a New York-style pizza feast rehearsal dinner - a nod to Franki's Northeastern roots.

On Saturday, with heartfelt first looks that brought tears to the eyes of those fortunate enough to witness them, Franki and Brian's emotional connection was on full display as they shared intimate moments before the ceremony.

The wedding ceremony unfolded on the labyrinth, where the birch arch was adorned with a few floral statement pieces that complemented the silk bouquets and boutonnieres. Their dear friend, Jesse Holzman, officiated the ceremony. As Brian stood at the ceremony site, Franki made her entrance, escorted by both her Uncle Sal and her mom. The pictures of her late father attached to her wedding bouquet served as a poignant reminder of his enduring presence, making this journey down the aisle a deeply touching and meaningful moment.

As Franki and Brian were announced as a married couple, their guests showered them with fragrant petal confetti of rose petals, lavender, and jasmine.

Cocktail hour unfolded on the front lawn, where a garden bar offered Franki and Brian's signature drinks, available with or without alcohol, honoring Brian's sobriety. Guests enjoyed an interactive guestbook, where colorful Polaroid cameras captured heartfelt advice and cherished memories. A guest picture sign added to the interactive fun, with pictures serving as dinner escort cards.

Inside, guests indulged in a carefully curated station that featured a rich assortment of meats, cheeses, fruits, nuts, and a little bit of everything to delight their palates.

The dinner was an elegant affair. Long tables were adorned with brass candlesticks, eucalyptus, and olive branches, accompanied by fresh flowers. Magenta napkins added a burst of color while mixed vintage blue stemware added a romantic touch. Unique table numbers featuring pictures of Chicago neighborhoods paid homage to their current hometown. There were many toasts, with Franki's mom delivering a deeply personal tribute, celebrating Franki's exceptional qualities.

Dinner concluded with wedding cake and custom-made cupcakes featuring rosemary with lemon curd filling and mascarpone whip cream. The cake toppers, Funko Pop figurines designed by Franki and Brian, added a whimsical and personal touch.

Guests had a blast at the creatively designed photo booth area, capturing memories in style. The evening continued with dancing under the stars, with Geoff from Sounds Abound playing the music they had carefully selected.

Kirst Photography, known for their expertise in film photography, skillfully captured the day's moments, adding a timeless and artistic touch to the wedding memories.

As a parting treat, guests received black and white cookies, a favorite from Franki's New York past, serving as a sweet reminder of this unforgettable celebration.
