Exploring Catering Options

When planning your wedding, the caterer you choose is one of the most important vendor decisions you’ll make. The Homestead 1854 has an open catering policy, but we do have some recommended vendors. Our recommended caterers are only ones we’ve worked with in the past, so we know how amazing their food and service are.
True Cuisine & Sweet Baby Ray's
True Cuisine Catering & Sweet Baby Ray’s are two full service caterers that operate as one company. They are a scratch kitchen caterer that uses local and organic ingredients for recipes that are inspired by each season. True Cuisine offers help with menu selection as well as timeline, floral, design, and decor assistance. If your venue doesn’t provide them, they also offer linen and tableware rentals.
They have menus for every part of your wedding reception: passed appetizers and/or platters like charcuterie, food stations (did someone say BBQ Fondue?), multi-course plated meals, buffet service, family style dinner, late night snacks, and dessert table options. Their menu features vegetarian, vegan, gluten free, dairy free, and nut free options to accommodate all of your guests dietary needs. With so much variety, True Cuisine has something for almost every budget.
Uncle Bub’s catering prides itself on its award winning BBQ and exceptional service. They offer a fully customizable catering menu for any size event as well as help with planning. They can also help you with tables, chairs, linens, china, and glassware if needed.
The catering menu for Uncle Bub’s includes many options to choose from including multiple entrees, sides, and bread (the corn bread is amazing!). They also offer on-site roasting or grilling packages. The menu also features a variety of appetizers, trays, greens, and side dishes. There are even a couple vegetarian options to choose from. Uncle Bub’s is a budget-friendly caterer that’s perfect for a more relaxed wedding.
My Chef Catering is a full service company that boasts of its exceptional service and presentation. They offer a wide range of menu items that can be customized to your event.
They provide a variety of foods and services ranging from appetizers, food stations, plated meals, buffets, family style service, to desserts and late night snack menus. The menus offer chicken, beef (Medallions with Bacon Shallot Jam!), pork, seafood, and vegetarian options, but everything can be adjusted to the dietary needs of your guests. My Chef is able to create a catering menu to fit most budgets.
Looking for something unique and memorable for your wedding dinner? Wooden Paddle catering offers on-site cooking so you know your meal is as fresh as it can be. Specializing in family style service, everyone gets to try a little bit of everything, so you can have something for everyone. If needed, they can also provide linens and tableware (plates, silverware, glasses, etc).
The catering menu includes everything needed for every step of your wedding day: incredible appetizer and grazing tables; salads and side dishes; meat, seafood, and pasta dishes, desserts, a late night snack menu, and of course their signature wood fired pizzas (get in on the Rocketman and Gettin’ Figgy With It while you can!). They also feature gluten free, dairy free, vegan, and vegetarian options. With a menu that requires personalized service on-site, Wooden Paddle is on the higher end for catering budgets.
Looking to support a local, family owned and operated catering company? The Savory & Sweet Shoppe, located in Sandwich, offers made-from-scratch catering options perfect for any occasion. They are able to curate a menu to match the vision for your event.
The Sweet & Savory Shoppe is an allergen-friendly kitchen that offers all homemade food items: they can accommodate gluten free (try the grilled chicken with pineapple mango salsa), dairy free, and nut free requests as needed. They offer a range of catering options from buffet service to plated dinners. Savory Catering offers competitive pricing for all catering services.
When it comes to your wedding day, you want your dinner to be something you want to eat! Be sure to think about the overall feel you want for your reception, formal vs casual, and what type of food you want to serve to your guests. Whether you want a plated steak dinner, a giant BBQ buffet, or on-site wood-fired pizza, our recommended caterers have something to offer for every type of wedding and every stage of the reception, from your appetizers to dinner, late night snacks, and even desserts.
